Bully For Me

I got a comment from an earlier post about Trump being a bully and asking if I was ever bullied. My first grade teacher was a bully. She would stick her well manicured fingernails into the back of my head. In second grade my best friend and I were bullied by five other kids, the bus ride home was a random draw of which bully (held back 6th grader) would punch my friend in the leg until he cried. And there was that 5th grader who would try to rip my cloths off sometimes. I think I have some experience in identifying one.

I ran across this post and it is all that I couldn’t put into words about Mr. Trumps “bulling” nature. Sure he is abrasive and might take things a bit farther than I would, but he is not directing his assault on me. The woman (yes, a female supporter) who wrote this did a fantastic job, and you should really read it to understand the appeal for Donald Trump.

Donald Trump, the Anti-Bully

A Letter To Disgruntled Cruz Supporters

It seems like none of the die hard Ted Cruz fans are able to move on from his inability to get nominated. I can hear you now, “Trump used his liberal friends to cheat and Kasich is that little rat-bastard who wouldn’t cooperate to defeat The Donald!” Well, unless your like Glenn Beck, who thinks that America is going to become a place of sin and wretched abominations where we only to send our children to hell and see God punish us for our disobedience; I have news for you about why he didn’t win, and you will not believe me.

He was not supposed to win. No, stop cussing at me. I know you are filled with the “righteous” anger of God and all, but simmer down. (No, I’m not a liberal, just listen without trying to invent some weird conspiracy about me.) In the Bible, when Joseph was sold to the slave traders, did anyone expect him to become the most powerful man in Egypt? No! They counted him dead!

I believe that Ted Cruz would make a terrible president, but as a senator, I believe that he can do great things. He can be the compass that keeps Trump on the right path. I know that is not a memorable achievement in life for some, but it can be the most important thing. All of the people that Trump overwhelmed have a talent that can be used to strengthen our country, and they can still use it!

Trump is not an idiot or a jerk, he is just not Politically Correct. Do not believe what the media wants you to believe. I have heard my Dad repeat liberal catchphrases without knowing where they came from. It seems like most people forgot how “liberal” the media was now that Trump is the target. MSNBC hates Trump, The Huffington Post, CBS, CNN, NYT; all of these outlets do not like Donald Trump. These are the same sources that you criticized for misrepresenting G.W. Bush. Now, for some reason, you are listening to them, and I bet it is because FOX News threw their hat in with Ted Cruz, and because that whole Megan Kelly thing ruffled a few feathers.

You are left with only one choice. You can vote for Hillary just to prove a point, but shooting yourself in the foot to show that it hurts is very foolish, but she will probably confiscate your guns before you can do that. Sanders is another option, but he is like Yoda: old and full of neat ideas that only work in a fictional world. There is no other candidate. Paul Ryan already said no several times, and the RNC also stated that trying to suddenly conjure an alternate at the last minute is a bad idea.

I suggest looking at what his supporters like about him. I did not like him at first. I was for Ben Carson, a man of peace and introspective wisdom. I watched a video of each of the remaining candidates (Jeb, Cruz, Kasich, Carson) to see how they handled themselves in a speech or an interview. I watched this video and slowly began to re-evaluate my opinion of the man. I saw a man and his wife that cared very much for their family. I liked the way he encouraged his wife to speak her mind even though she was timid to do so. I judge a man by the way he treats his family, and I was surprised with what I saw.

Don’t stay angry, Cruz is not God nor was he the savior of the U.S.A. Placing a man above God is not right. Look at who is left and try to see the plan. The world is all about negotiation now. Of all that ran, who is the best negotiator?

Black Lives Matter change name to White Lives Matter in Light of Sanders Success

Today the activist group Black Lives Matter changed their name to White Lives Matter on account of the success of Bernie Sanders.  “We feel that we are all white now, so the changes seemed appropriate” said Alicia Garza, co-founder of BLM. “After [Bernie] Sanders swept Hawaii, I just felt more white than I knew I could be! Now I eat Atkins bars and am really wondering what I was so angry about.”

When speaking to other activists about the name change, they also felt it was a good idea. “I was born a poor black boy and lived in a shady part of town. I never knew who my dad was and didn’t care, I was getting into drugs and the thug-life; after Bernie, I have started taking some beauty tips from Caitlyn Jenner and I feel like I can be me– I feel like Michael Jackson!” said Tyrone James

Many Hispanics and Mexicans have also felt more “white” after the Sanders-Effect swept over them. Many are nationalizing after years of illegal U.S. residency just to support their fellow white presidential nominee. Manuel Ruiz is one who has even lost his hispanic accent after feeling so white. “I know I used to be Mexican, but now I don’t feel that way. It’s good to feel white, but you know, being white now and standing around all these Mexicans, I kind of understand what Trump was talking about.”

Opinionated Chrysilis

I would like to share something that happened at work recently, and I feel that it is important to maintain the same tone in which it occurred so I will not censor the verbiage.

I work in a food warehouse and get to see many different things people buy that I would not normally look for on my own (like pickled pigs feet). A friend of mine drove up and blocked me off, then asked me this: “What the hell is up with all this roasted seaweed and shit? What ever just happened to regular potato chips?”

“Well,” I responded, “I don’t think that is anything new, its probably been around a while. Its just something that we…”

“They got all those weird-ass chips,” he interrupted, “and the seaweed –the last time I looked, there was nothing wrong with the plain old fuckin’ potato chip!” he declared with a bit of aggravation.

“Well yah, but people probably just want to try…” I tried to respond but he interrupted again.

“There is one over there,” he said as he nodded to another part of the warehouse, “that says Sustainable. What the fuck does sustainable mean?!”

I was a bit confused why he was getting so worked up, especially since I was just minding my own business and it seemed like he sought me out. I felt like I needed to respond, but he seemed a bit insincere with his questions.

“Well they are just trying to do something good for the environment.” I guess my response was not what he wanted, so he eloquently rephrased the question.

“No, I don’t know what it means — Sustainable, what does it mean?”

“Oh!” I replied, “you don’t know?”

“No, I don’t” He seemed receptive now, so I thought I might get a word in and help clear up some of his confusion.

“It has to do with reducing your carbon footprint.” His posture changed and he tilted his head like I told him something sarcastic. “Well its more than just that,” I added, “It’s more about the entire process: from the tractors, to the…”

“What!?” he exclaimed. “Don’t these people already know that all the carbon that the tractors make is absorbed by the potatoes already?!”

My thoughts were that I would prefer to not eat exhaust laden potatoes, but that would have to wait until I finished so I continued, “Well it includes the packaging, the facility, its water-source, irrigation, the…”

“So basically, its a bunch of people who are dumb-asses that don’t know what they’re doing, but think they are doing something good for the environment.” He seemed pretty confident in his opinion and sat awaiting my response.

A long time ago I learned that you should not waste your time arguing with someone who is convinced they are right. If you do, then you will fall into the fools trap and have all your credibility wasted in a single effort to convince a single baboon that you know the correct order of colors in a rainbow. The baboon doesn’t care if it is right or wrong, just as long as you agree and encourage the nature of the baboon. I know it is wrong, but I also knew that I already wasted enough time as it was, and wasting more was the greater tragedy. So I shrugged my shoulders and threw my hands up, then said,

The look of satisfaction swept through his body like he was given a massage. Then he happily told me why all these people were so stupid, and then started to give his dissertation on what they should do if they were “really smart.” He did tell me how well I explained it even-though I don’t think I explained anything. He felt pretty good about himself, and I just wanted to leave so badly.

If I have ever done this in the past I would like to offer an apology. I hope that I have come far enough in maturity to strive to understand what is truly important. I wouldn’t want to be remembered that way and I should be better off outside that opinionated chrysalis.

An Easter Egg in the Toilet

Today was a pretty good day. My wife woke me early in the morning to tell me I could sleep in. About 30 minutes later she got back from dropping the kids off at school and asked if I could go grocery shopping with her. I told her I wanted to sleep in, so she asked me again.

I really did need to get up and unclog the toilet. The day before, my little 14 month old found half of a plastic Easter Egg–we have no idea where she found it. But she did manage to throw it into the toilet as it was flushing. She was a good little girl and waved by-by at least.

I have never run into a problem like this before, and I think that having kids and a family is the perfect training-ground for dealing with unexpected events. My single friends get flustered when things start going unexpectedly, but when you get home after a 14 hour shift and walk into your bathroom and there is a pumpkin in the bathtub and a sink full paint stains, you just roll with the punches.

Today I bought a drain auger and didn’t even google what I was about to do. This wasn’t my first rodeo, and I’m sure that I will be the clown and the bull rider some day, then at the end I will be the announcer, but today I am the plumber! I can’t imagine life without all these interruptions, I do try, but I am always interrupted by life.

Life is what I am living, and if you see all this as a burden then I know you are missing the greatest adventure. I used to think that kids hampered my freedom, but they really only keep me out of trouble. I like my life. It is hard work sometimes, but it’s worth it. I mean, how else am I going to find a baby to clog a toilet with an Easter Egg in the middle of December?

Deport Racism by spreading hate

When someone yells at me and uses profanity, I get the idea that they don’t like me very much. If I lose my cool and start telling someone what I think of them, and if most of the words I use would get bleeped out on daytime television, it would be safe to assume that I really hate that person. The Deport Hate viral-video is a very hateful video.

I didn’t watch it, I already watched the other video that they created: “F-Bombs for Feminism.” I thought it was outraguous and counterproductive, and I can imagine that this new one is as equally absurd.

The whole thing reminds me of when some kid gets publicly beat up really bad by a bully. The kid is humiliated and angry, but lacks an appropriate outlet to deal with the rage. The next step is to jab at the bully from a distance (verbally or psychologically) and accumulate a group of similarly embittered people.

This is what Luke Montgomery has done. He was that beaten kid, and now he is an angry man who coerces children and families to publicly verbally assault what he chooses to be oppressive. I have written on racism before, and this is not the way to go about it. I guess he hopes the ends justify the means, but you can’t get rid of hate with more hate.

The fraud of racial divercity

I am the product of a bi-racial marriage. My mom is white and my dad is basically Hispanic. My parents were almost not married because the priest said that he “normally does not condone this type of union,” so my dad bribed him with what he had on him. I grew up not really seeing much of a difference in other races, they were all just kids like me.

When I was about 13 I heard these two guys, whom were about 16, arguing about why one of them couldn’t come over and hang out at the other guys house. It ended when the guy refusing was almost in tears, confessing that his dad hated Mexicans and that they would both have “their asses kicked” if he came over. That was the first time I knew racism was not just on TV or in the news.

Now we have all of this “diversity” stuff being shoved in our faces. This is a kind of “inverted-racism,” where we are shamed for something we didn’t do, and most of us are not even sure that our ancestors participated in any racist activities. I was under the impression that celebrating diversity meant accepting all races equally, not placing one above another to over-compensate for a supposed racial deficit. Highlighting one race over another is racism.

Sometime this past year I was sitting with a friend of mine at lunch. We were watching videos on his phone of comedians saying racist jokes and stories about black people. He would look over his shoulder and say, “I don’t want people to hear this, they might get offended,” but he is black. How bad have we gotten as a society that a black man can’t even laugh at a racist joke about his own skin color?

I have an idea, lets just stop drawing attention to the obvious fact that my skin color will never be the same as yours, and who cares? The more we try to distinguish one over the other, the further we get from our goal of equality. You can’t get rid of racism by shoving it in the face of everyone, just let it die out.
